Business woman addresses Rotary club

Business and Professional Women Central Coast president Ms Christine Levis, of St Huberts Island, addressed the May 18 meeting of the Rotary Club of Umina Beach.

Ms Levis spoke about women's position in the workforce, in local communities, political positions and wage differences, including between countries.

She said that her association worked towards equality of representation between women and men on boards and in other positions of leadership.

She explained how BPW Central Coast has guest speakers at its meetings and had a particular interest in education, childcare and overseas projects such as the East Timor Midwife Fund.

Ms Levis also spoke about the Nappy Effect: the challenges and uncertainties that face women in making decisions about work, home life and family activities.
