Gardens and chickens for mini farm
St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School has completed the construction of garden beds and chicken coops over the Easter break.
They will be included as part of the school's mini farm.
"The concept of the mini farm is to model for children where food comes from," said principal Mr Frank Cohen.
"It is also our intention to sell the produce back to the community and hence illustrate for children some basic commerce principles.
"We have never done this before."
Mr Cohen said fathers of students had volunteered their time for the project.
