Fun with sounds morning
A free Fun with Sounds play morning will be held at Beachside Family Centre on Monday, June 27, from 10am to 11:30am.
"There will be a number of play activities set up for children aged three to five years," said facilitator Ms Debbie Notara.
"There will be craft, songs and games all based on the sound 't'.
"Of course brothers and sisters are also welcome to come along to this free event.
"Children can bring along a favourite toy or item starting with the letter 't' as well," said Ms Notara.
"Parents and carers are often unsure about the best way to help children develop skills to learn to read.
"This session will give some very simple and helpful ideas and show that learning is also a lot of fun."
The Fun with Sounds play morning is organised by members of the Peninsula Start Reading Project.
This Project has been running at Beachside Family Centre for the last five years and also organises the annual event of Storytime in the Park which will be held on Tuesday, August 23.
Beachside Family Centre is located in the grounds of Umina Public School, Sydney Ave, Umina.
Anyone interested in taking part can call Beachside Family Centre on 4343 1929 to book in.
