Brigades attend car fire

The Pearl Beach Rural Fire Service brigade and the Patonga Volunteer Rural Bush Fire Brigade as well as the Umina Fire and Rescue NSW Station responded to a report of a car fire on Patonga Dr, near the Warrah Trig track in the early hours of Thursday, October 5.

The crews attended at around 3am, extinguishing the vehicle and ensuring the fire didn't spread to adjacent bushland.

"We were extremely lucky for the rain yesterday evening, which reduced the risk of the car fire starting a bushfire," the Pearl Beach brigade reported.

"If the weather had remained hot, dry and windy the situation would have been far more

dangerous."
