Wednesday Bowls celebrates five years

Wednesday Bowls celebrated its fifth year at Ettalong Bowling Club on August 9.

"Starting with only 30 bowlers back in 2018, the club now attracts more than 100 bowlers every week," said Bowling Club deputy chair Mr Ken Dixon.

The bowlers are known as Dicko's Dogs, after playing for several years at the former Woy Woy Bowling Club.

"For a cost of $10 each, players get a game of bowls plus a lunchtime meal with the menu changing every week.

"Since 2018, the club has hosted over 20,000 games of bowls and supplied the same number of meals to hungry bowlers.

"Visitors are most welcome and many players from other Central Coast Clubs already frequent the event.

"This year, the annual Clubman of the Year Award was presented to Dave Downey and Barry Henson, who organised our meals over the past year.

"We also have many other volunteers who contribute to the success of the day."
