Is this what we call democracy?

What has happened to the people of NSW?

I have been away and I find on my return that the family silver is all but sold.

What right does this State Government have to sell off the Land Registry, which has been making a profit for NSW coffers each year of about $70 million?

How will they make up this shortfall?

This government is no longer interested in supporting people in need and so they are getting rid of public housing.

Residents in inner Sydney have been moved to outlying suburbs, losing their whole support system and community in order that rich, overseas buyers can have the views.

We needn't worry because Serco's revenue is shrinking, with the closing of the Detention Centres and they are eager to bring in a controversial system for cheaper housing, trialled in the UK on asylum seekers.

That will be another cash cow for them.

As shown on Four Corners recently, out of home care for children at risk has been outsourced.

These non-government organisations are mostly failing in the care of these children while being paid millions by the government.

Sport and Recreation used to provide affordable holidays for families but these often very beautiful sites are being sold off to private investors for private gain.

TAFE has been pushed into the ground.

It has to win contracts against private colleges which have been shown to be shonks and shysters.

These colleges are not in the least interested in education or skills but simply in their income.

Trains, Corrective Services, Public Works, Government Records, Hospitals, the list goes on, are all to be privatised.

They even sold the Cancer Register.

Why would a private company want a cancer register?

To sell off the information and exploit these poor people for profit.

That is why.

To round off this atrocious list, our government has now weakened ICAC.

It would seem that corruption is welcome in NSW.

This at the very time that we need a stronger ICAC and a National one as well.

So the Cheshire Cat, a former investment banker, who heads this government, seems to have much in common with Mephistopheles.

He will sell his soul to the devil if the price is right.

Do we still live in the Middle Ages where we tap our forelock to those in power and say "you know best what is good for us"?

Is this what we call democracy?

Shame.
