CWA branch president steps down

The president of the Woy Woy branch of the Country Women's Association has decided to step down.

Long-standing president Ms Jane Bowtell has decided to take a break "to spend time with her family and very energetic two-year-old grandson".

The branch's new president will be Ms Margy Ure who will officially take over at the annual general meeting in October.

However, the transition has already started with Ms Ure taking on some presidential duties.

In a social media post, "all members warmly welcomed her into her new role and are committed to helping her maintain the branch moving forward" and to "see the branch remain relevant and committed to the community".

Ms Bowtell was described as "the go-to person for many years (who) helped Woy Woy CWA become a vibrant, busy, community-focused branch once again".

She will remain a branch member.
