Students spend Skills Week 'learning by doing'

Two hospitality students from Brisbane Water Secondary College have spent National Skills Week, August 21-27, "learning by doing".

Ettalong Diggers hosted the two students, providing training and workplace experience to hospitality students, according to the club's community manager Ms Kim Cole.

They "developed valuable skills in both front-of-house and kitchen duties, supplementing their learning in class".

"Our team also benefits from developing the ability to train and coach others."

She said Ettalong Diggers also partnered with TAFE NSW and a group training organisation to provide pathways for hospitality and cookery students.

She encouraged anyone interested in a career in hospitality to call the club 4343 0111.
