Financial literacy workshops aim to provide skills

Financial literacy workshops, entitled In Charge of My Money, will be offered by the Wesley Mission at the Peninsula Community Centre in March.

In Charge of My Money will run over three sessions on Monday 7, 14 and 21 March, between 9:15am and 11:40am.

It will be an interactive program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed and effective money-management decisions.

The workshops aim to develop skills to manage money, manage debt, set financial goals, budget and save and plan for the future as well as to provide information on where to get help.

Community development officer for the Peninsula Community Centre, Ms Louise Manson, said: "This course will be useful in providing information about good money-management for the whole family."

The acting chief executive officer of Coast Community Connections, Ms Di Spragg, said: "We are pleased to be partnering with Wesley Mission to deliver the free In Charge of My Money program.

"We encourage singles, couples and families from our local community to join us for the workshops.

"There are a limited number of places available."

Child-minding under certain conditions will be available on request.

The Peninsula Community Centre is located at 93 McMasters Rd, Woy Woy.

For more information, call the centre on 4341 9333.
