Men's Shed to decide whether to relocate garden beds

The Umina Beach Men's Shed is gauging interest in establishing and maintaining garden beds at its new location in Osborne Ave.

"We have a series of garden beds at our current location," said Men's Shed secretary Mr Vic Brown.

"Originally we started with just the two and then, as in interest in growing veggies, salads, and chillies grew, the number of beds were expanded and installed on the Birdwood Ave frontage.

"Over the years those keen and capable gardeners have either passed on or moved away and the beds became disused.

"The question we have for all members [ which needs to be answered and responded to quickly!] which of you wants to focus some of your time at the Shed growing and tending garden beds,

"In the past, the Shed has provided the seeds and plantings and the growers and members enjoyed the matured products at the Shed and take to home.

If there is sufficient interest in gardening, we will relocate the garden beds to match it.

"Otherwise they will be disposed of as part of the clean-up program."
