Ettalong takes national bowls title in BPL Cup
An Ettalong Bowling Club team has taken out Bowls Australia's Bowls Premier League Cup winning the national championship in a game against WA side Victoria Park Carlisle.
The Ettalong trio of Darren Morrison, Lee Threthowan and Nathan Malloy were too strong for their opponents Patrick Keeffe, Graeme Wishart and Lee Such in the final at Club Pine Rivers on Thursday. November 16.
Lee Trethowan was name most valuable player.
The Ettalong team lost just two games out of 17 for the whole tournament and remained undefeated through State and Nationals.
The BPL Cup aims to provids an opportunity for club-based teams to progress through various rounds to National Finals, to be played in parallel with the November leg of the BPL at Club Pine Rivers, Queensland.
