Year's rainfall is down 40 per cent

Rainfall this year to the end of May has totalled 419.9mm.

This is 40 per cent less than the average total of 693mm for the period, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

Total rainfall for the month was 23.3mm, 70 per cent less than the monthly average of 77mm.

In the first 10 days of June, 9.9mm has been recorded, less than 7.0 per cent of the average rainfall for June of 147mm.

The rain was recorded over eight days, but four of these days had falls of 0.5mm or less.
