Indian restaurant is named best in regional NSW
Woy Woy has "the best Indian restaurant in regional NSW".
Spices 29 Goan Indian Restaurant received this accolade at the recent State Restaurant and Catering Association of Australia Awards.
The restaurant has been a finalist in the awards from the year after it started in 2018.
Business owners Mr Nelson Fernandes and Ms Selma Rocha said they were overjoyed with the win.
"The great day for the business has arrived because of the constant support from our customers and the teamwork of our staff," said Ms Rocha.
"It has been our pleasure and a great opportunity to be able to compete against all big businesses."
Mr Fernandes said that the enthusiasm and dedication shown by the staff over the last five years have been the biggest factors contributing to the win.
"I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 20 years myself, and it always is an absolute pleasure to be able to bring delicious food and warm service to the clients," he said.
The State win means the restaurant is now a finalist in the national awards.
Head chef Mr Praveen Kumar said he saw the win as a challenge and was already preparing for the nationals.
"People come here to celebrate, and it is our duty as a team to offer them the best."
"At Spices 29, we have always strived to serve the best food and service," said restaurant manager Shiwangi.
"Winning is a wonderful thing.
"However, the focus is to be constantly becoming better."
