School musical costs $55 for 'family of four'

A "family of four" will have to pay $55 to attend the Umina Beach Public School's musical tonight Monday or tomorrow night Tuesday, November 13 and 14.

Alternatively, families will have to go cap in hand to the school to seek a lower price.

"We recognise that times are financially difficult for many right now," said school principal Ms Karen Wardlaw.

"Please contact the school if we can be of any assistance towards ensuring that your family can enjoy this wonderful event."

Adult tickets will cost $20 and "school aged and under" tickets will cost $10.

"Family of four" tickets will cost $55.

All tickets for matinee performances at 11:30am this morning and tomorrow will cost $10 each.

Years K-2 students will attend the matinee performances at no cost as part of their school day.

The school musical, Global Worming, has been written by teacher Mr Jeff Bonnor together with a friend who composed the music.

It is described as "a hilarious musical for the whole family that will have the audience in stitches", with performances lasting two and a half hours.

The story is set in a fictional school and begins with a new school principal, Mr Wrathmore informing the teachers that they are all being replaced because they are boring.

Fortunately, students Allan and Ana are suspicious and soon discover their new teachers are evil worms from outer space, taking over the Earth.

The performances are open to the public and tickets can be purchased from Trybooking.com, under Umina Beach Public School.
