Monthly community breakfast raises funds for hall

Pearl Beach Progress Association will hold its monthly Community Breakfast barbecue next Sunday, October 8, at the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall.

The monthly community barbecue and market has grown from a casual bacon and egg roll on a Sunday morning to provide locals and visitors with a range of fresh and locally-made produce.

From bringing people together to build a stronger sense of community, it has turned into an event which is raising funds for the renovation of the hall.

It is held every second Sunday morning from 8am to 11am and all are welcome.

Tables and chairs are set up on the back deck and garden area so that friends, young families and dog owners can sit and enjoy a relaxed breakfast-brunch.

The small market has a number of stalls including pastries and bread, fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and honey, Mediterranean foods and Vietnamese takeaway.

A group of local volunteers have started creating jams, pickles and chutneys.
