Two petitions oppose Austin Butler reclassification

Two petitions with a total of around 2500 people have called on Central Coast Council to stop the reclassification of Austin Butler Reserve from "community" to "operational" land, according to Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch.

Ms Tesch said she submitted her petition to Council Administator Mr Rik Hart, on the day of the council's meeting on Tuesday, September 26, calling on Council to keep Austin Butler Reserve in community hands.

"I am writing on behalf of thousands of my constituents who are against the reclassification of Austin Butler Reserve from 'communiity' to 'operational' land," she wrote.

"Please find attached the respondents of my petition that I have launched calling on Central Coast Council to save our Austin Butler Reserve trees.

"It is clear that the community opposes the reclassification of Austin Butler reserve and I call on you to keep Austin Butler Reserve as community land."
