Lions beaten by Razorbacks in first round rugby match

The Woy Woy Lions have been beaten by the Razorbacks at Woy Woy Oval, 27-7, in Central Coast Rugby Union's first round match.

The Razorbacks got away to a quick start and it was not long before they had jumped to a handy 12 points to nil lead.

However, things then evened out and it developed into a real struggle.

The scoreline of 12-nil remained until the half time break.

Woy Woy was certainly causing the visitors problems.

The match continued to be a battle in the second half but it was the Razorbacks who crossed for a further two tries in the second half and were able to go on and outlast the home team by a total of four tries to one.

Both teams will take a lot from the match and will have high hopes of a successful 2023 season.

Best players for Woy Woy were flanker Casey Woodford and prop Sione Lakalaka.
