Waterfront tree recognised as 'significant'

Grow Urban Shade Trees group member Ms Lesley Harvey has succeeded in having a tree on the Woy Woy waterfront recognised as a "significant tree".

The tree was planted under the Federally-funded Queen's Jubilee Tree program last year.

The planting had been cooordinated by Ms Harvey.

She requested that the council give consideration for the Sydney red gum be listed on the council's Significant Tree Register.

"Council has now approved the application which will ensure that the tree's place on the Woy Woy Foreshore Reserve is officially recognised into the future," said Ms Harvey.
