Bowls club unification discussions to continue

Discussions about the unification of Umina Beach men's and women's bowling club will continue following special meetings held by each club.

The members of each club last week passed a motion to do so.

The women's club had a special general meeting on April 11 and the men's club held a special general meeting on April 12.

Both club's agreed in favour of "the Unification Working Group continuing to review and identify any advantages or disadvantages associated with the potential future unification" of the clubs.

The women's club voted 44-3 in favour, while the men's club voted 44-11 in favour, according to men's club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"The motion was passed by a high majority, so the joint Working Group will continue with their review," he said.

"Thanks to all the members who attended their respective special general meetings.

"Thanks also to Club Umina management for being scrutineers for the voting."
